Lions egg hunt a roaring success

LAKEVILLE — The egg hunt was especially sweet for children who visited the Lakeville Lions property Saturday, April 8.
They had the chance to scout down eggs filled with candy and, in a few special golden cases, a prize.
Then dessert: Inside, the Easter Bunny waited to greet them.
Madison Ciesielski, 8,of Freetown had her eyes peeled for the golden prize before the countdown that led to the start of the hunt. She attends nearly Mullein Hill Christian Academy and her mother, Jennifer Ciesielski, saw they signs for the event as the drove to school. “She was so excited,’’ she said.
Charlie Thompson of Lakeville, who attended with her twin sister Macy, said she likes “everything’’ about Easter. “The Easter bunny comes and brings jelly beans,’’ she said with a bg smile.
Christine Ehlers brought her daughters Lucy Ehlers, 6, and Rose Ehlers, 3. She said she teaches the children the Biblical message of Easter, which she said is the main reason for the holiday.
“But we like to eat chocolate too,’’ she said.
Lions Club member Carl Peirce said the organization hosts the event each year to encourage the community to gather “for a fun event.’’
After all, he said, “a happy community is a healthy community.’’
