Letters sought thanking veterans for service

MIDDLEBORO -- The Middleboro Elks is collecting letters to be sent to veterans who participate on Honor Flights.

Each veteran who travels with Honor Flight Tri-State receives a large envelope filled with handwritten letters, cards, drawings, and personal notes expressing appreciation for their military service and sacrifices.

Letters can be simply written, with thanks to veterans for their service.

The Honor Flight program provides free air transportation to veterans 65 and older to visit veterans memorials.

These letters can be dropped off at the Elks Lodge, 24 High St.

Larger groups such as classrooms and Scouts are encouraged to participate.
