MIDDLEBOROUGH - Lavina M. (Coombs) Sears, age 91, of Middleborough, died on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, West Campus, in Boston.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John & Anna (Murray) Coombs. Lavina attended schools, began working, soon married Herbert and started raising their family. For years, Lavina worked for the Schrafft Candy Company located in Charlestown. In her free time, she enjoyed doing various arts & crafts and collecting Christmas items. Lavina liked playing bingo and always looked forward to trying her luck and winning while playing at various casinos. She was a caring and loving lady, always worried and cared for others; she was truly devoted to her family. Lavina will be missed.

Lavina was the beloved wife of the late Herbert Sears; loving mother of Herbert Sears & his wife Dyanne of Middleborough, Richard Sears & his wife Terri of Middleborough, Ralph Sears & his wife Donna of Middleborough, Robert Sears & his fiancée Lisa of Attleboro, Christine Kusick of West Bridgewater and Donna Sears & her husband Gary Hill of Taunton; grandmother to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and dear sister of John Coombs of Kingston and the late Patricia Perkins, Alexander Coombs, Joanne Quintal and Edward Coombs.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

All are invited to her funeral Mass of Christian Burial at the Holy Apostles Parish, OUR LADY OF THE LAKE CHURCH, 575 Monponsett Street, (Route 58), Halifax, on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 12:00 NOON.

Interment services will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Connery Avenue, Bourne, at 2:30 PM.
