History by the slice: Central Cafe to serve pizza at marathon

MIDDLEBORO -- A Middleboro mainstay for pizza will make a slice of marathon history.

Central Café of Middleboro has been named one of the official vendors for the Boston Marathon.

The café will be part of Fan Fest, a three-day event from April 17 to 19 at City Hall Plaza. The festivities include music, activities an appearances by Boston Marathon champions as well as food options.

Central Café will also serve up fresh hot pizza on the day of the marathon itself, April 20, to celebrate the finishers at the post-race party.

Café staff expressed a “huge thanks to our amazing customers for helping us to get there. Come visit us in Boston and help us show the city how Middleboro does it.’’
