Harold G. Bolster, Jr., 92
BROCKTON - Harold G. Bolster, Jr., of Brockton, formerly of Middleborough, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, just before his 93rd birthday.
Harry met the love of his life, Sandra at a mixer when he was an enlisted service member in the Navy and she was a nursing student at New England Baptist Hospital. Together they had three children; Darcy, Michael, and Stephen.
Harry was known for his warm smile and kind heart. As a way of coping with the loss of his wife, Sandra, to Alzheimer’s disease along with the death of his son, Mike, he took up singing with professional voice lessons. Harry’s YouTube videos with his trademark narrative preceding his performances will live on forever.
As the youngest of seven, Harry was a caregiver beginning with his family helping his mother and siblings throughout their lives and caring for his disabled son, Mike and later his wife, Sandra during her battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
An accomplished man, Harry served 25 1/2 years in the Navy and retired as Lt. Commander while continuing his education attending college at night. His degrees include an Associate’s in Business Administration, an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences and a Master’s of Education in Health Sciences. Harry served as a Chief Hospital Corpsman and later as an Environmental Health Officer during his years in the Navy. He went on to work for the Department of Environmental Protection of Massachusetts for 17 years as an Environmental Analyst.
Harry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra; his parents, Dorothy E. Wallis and Harold G. Bolster and six siblings.
He leaves behind two children; Darcy Mancusi & her husband Michael of Bridgewater, MA and Stephen Bolster of O’Fallon, IL, and is predeceased by his son, Michael Bolster. Harry has six grandchildren; Jonathan, Jackson, Sophia, Stephen, Michaela, and Craig, along with five great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:15 AM, with a funeral service starting at 11:15 AM.
Interment services with Military Honors will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Connery Avenue, Bourne, at 12:45 PM.
