Girl scouts help beautify Freetown Lakeville Middle School
LAKEVILLE — With the help of members of the Parent Teacher Organization, local girl scout troops and faculty, grounds at Freetown Lakeville Middleboro School received some tender loving care the weekend of Sept. 7 and 8.
Members of the Parent Teacher Organization along with the new middle school principal Jaqueline Francisco, organized a clean-up and planting day to beautify the front of the school.
“With the help of an amazing group of volunteers, we were able to transform the front of the school into a welcoming space,” said PTO member Michelle Hecht, who gave “a special shoutout to all those who contributed their time, effort, and resources to make this project possible.”
Hecht brought in members of the local girl scout group she leads to help with the project.
Contributions came in the form of time, plants such as mums, tulips and daffodils, as well as sweet treats to fuel the effort. One of the project’s focus areas was the schools’ memorial bench.
