Gardening class, tick education among Soule April offerings

MIDDLEBORO — Soule Homestead Education Center, 46 Soule St., is hosting several events in April.

Open mic night is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, April 8. All skill levels are welcome to offer music, poetry and comedy. The event is free and located in the West Classroom. Children must remain with their parents.

Two workshops on tick awareness and education will take place at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15. The workshop will review science-based information to allow people to know what steps to take to minimize tick exposure. The free event is located in the West Classroom.

Introduction to basket weaving workshops will be offered at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22. Participants will learn the basics of basket-weaving; all skills levels are welcome. The workshop is $40 for members and $45 for non-members and will be held at the West Classroom. Pre-registration is required. 4

An introduction to organic gardening is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at the West Classroom and then outside. Participants will learn the basics of putting together their own garden. Fee is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Pre-registration is required.
