MIDDLEBORO — The Middleboro-based Sacred Heart Food Pantry provides food assistance to people in need.

The cost of food and everything else is going up and nearly one in three people in Massachusetts is facing food insecurity, according to pantry representatives. When someone is food insecure, they don’t have the means to access enough nutritious food on a regular basis.

The Sacred Heart Food Pantry is open to serve the residents of Middleboro, Carver, Lakeville, and Rochester. Anyone who needs food assistance is welcome.

For convenience, the first contact can be done by phone. Call (508) 947-1717 and select option 2. Leave a name and phone number. A volunteer will call to arrange food distribution.

Otherwise, people may visit in person during regular pantry hours to register for food distribution.

The Sacred Heart Food Pantry is located at the rear entrance of 53 Oak St. in Middleboro. It is open on the first and third Wednesday mornings of the month from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The pantry is also open the second and fourth Wednesday afternoons from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday mornings from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
