Dog show sparks round of a-paws
MIDDLEBORO – From Great Danes to Miniature Schnauzers, dogs of all sizes strutted their stuff on the runway during the "PAW-fection" Pup Show at Alley Theater on Sunday, Oct. 15.
Eddie, the three legged mixed breed took to the runway with uncontrollable excitement, stopping along the way to sniff and greet audience members.
“He is the sweetest and happiest dog,” said Eddie’s owner Susane Chace. “His tail is wagging all of the time.”
Other pups, like Zelda the German Shepherd puppy stayed close to their owners. Being inseparable from her dad, Nick O’Roak, Zelda was carried down the runway in her princess tutu.
“She has taken to sleeping on top of my head,” said O’Roak. “She is very affectionate.”
According to event organizer Lorna Brunelle, in addition to raising money for the Middleboro Animal Shelter, the event also showcased four dogs from the animal shelter searching for their forever home.
“Right now we have a decent amount of dogs in the shelter and they just need to go home,” said Olivia Gasbar of Middleboro Animal Shelter.
According to Gasbar, the money raised by the event will go towards medical expense funds for the animals.
