Dispensary event raises support, donations for animals in need
MIDDLEBORO — Community members gathered recently for fun, food and furry friends at Thrive Dispensary to support and raise donations for area animal shelters.
The medical and recreational cannabis distributor at 29 Harding St. wrapped up its August donation drive with a Dog Days of Summer celebration. The all-day event, held Aug. 30, featured live music, a food truck, a tie-dying station, and bandanas and pup cups for canine attendees.
To encourage donations of pet supplies, the dispensary offered a 10% coupon for each item visitors donated. It collected about 180 cans and 30 bags of dog and cat food, 13 blankets and towels, and over 50 toys, leashes and other supplies. These supplies will benefit Middleboro Animal Shelter and the Lakeville Animal Shelter.
Several small businesses attended in support, including Nedrah's Blind Date with a Book, Wood Burnt Designs by Donna White, Renity Products and Seaside Divine. Coffee Milano also provided coffee and refreshments.
