David J. “Plaz” Plaskawiski
David J. “Plaz” Plaskawiski, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2025, at his home in Middleborough, MA. Born on July 29, 1968, he was the cherished son of Bernice (Hinds) Plaskawiski and the late Julian Plaskawiski. A lifelong resident of Middleborough, David was known for his unwavering dedication and unwavering spirit.
David graduated from Middleborough High School and spent 22 years as a devoted supervisor with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. In addition to his professional responsibilities, he was a committed on-call firefighter for the towns of Lakeville and Middleborough, exemplifying his passion for service to his community. His memberships with the Mitchell Memorial Club, the Middleborough Elks Club, the Massachusetts Call and Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, and the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association reflected his vibrant engagement in local organizations.
A man of many interests, David cherished camping trips and creating lasting memories with family and friends. His favorite moments were spent at Sandy Neck Beach, where he would unwind by the fire, surrounded by the sounds of music and good company. He looked forward to Saturday dinners with his wife, Lori, at the Lakeville Country Club, and Sunday lunches at Vels. David also took great pride in his involvement with the Travis Albert Circle of Friends annual poker run, a testament to his desire to give back.
David's overwhelming love for his daughter, Myra Lyn Freeman, was evident to all who knew him. He celebrated her strength and accomplishments with every fiber of his being. His infectious smile brightened even the darkest days, and his warm hugs made everyone feel welcome and valued.
David is survived by his devoted mother, Bernice Plaskawiski; brother, Dennis Plaskawiski; loving wife, Lori Freeman; and his adored daughter, Myra Freeman. His legacy of kindness and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
Visiting hours for David will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral home service will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a processional to Saint Mary Cemetery on Wood Street in Middleborough, where David will be laid to rest alongside his late father, Julian.
