David F. Woodbury, 75
Mar 25, 2025
MIDDLEBOROUGH - David F. Woodbury, age 75, of Middleborough, died peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, at his home.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John & Charlotte (Little) Woodbury. David grew up in Lynn as well as California and worked with his father in a moving company. In July 1969, he entered the US Army and served during the Vietnam War, and was discharged honorably in July 1971. David began working in 1982 at the Boston Herald Newspaper, as a member truck driver delivering the newspaper, retiring in 2010.
He was an avid collector of rare coins and unique knives and had a vast collection which he admired. He appreciated the American Eagle for its beauty, elegance and symbolism. David loved spending time at the family cottage in Middleborough. Over the years, he was most content when at the cottage with Linda, his soulmate since middle school and "the apple of his eye", playing Yahtzee and card games including Rummy. David enjoyed the occasional trip to a casino; and was always ready to try his luck on scratch tickets! He liked to watch sci-fi and police shows on the television and David loved telling stories to anyone, with appropriate content or not! He cherished time spent with family and friends; spending time with his grandchildren brought him great joy, even doing simple things such as arts and crafts. He also loved taking care of his faithful companions, Orbit and Gemma. At the holidays, David would dress up in a Santa suit and surprise everyone, bringing laughter and joy to all. He was a fun, loving man and will be missed.
David was the beloved husband of the late Linda (White) Woodbury; devoted father of Robert Woodbury & his wife Candice of Middleborough, Lynette Woodbury of South Boston and David Woodbury & his wife Lindsay of Middleborough; loving grandfather of Daniel, Mackenzie, Kailey, Robbie, Jocelyn, Roman, Elijah and McKenna; great-grandfather of Theo; dear brother of Billy Woodbury & his wife JoAnn of California, Charlie Woodbury of Arizona, Tommy Woodbury & his wife Melanie of Arizona and the late Johnny Woodbury, Bob Woodbury and Woody Woodbury; and half-brother of Michael Woodbury and Charmaine Fecteau of Manchester, New Hampshire. He is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
