Cranberry Country honors local businesses

Apr 2, 2024

Local businesspeople were honored at the 2024 annual meeting of the Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce.

Honorees include Charles “Skip” Dennis of Lakeville, who won the Business Person of the Year award. The Lakeville resident is the owner and head of business development for Junkluggers of Southeastern MA and R.I.

Junkluggers provides services that allow them to recycle, reuse, repurpose, so that all the items he picks up do not end up in local landfills. He has also participated in numerous fund-raising events and donated his truck for food and electronics drives and moved items free for people in need.

This year’s Volunteer of the Year is Robin Moniz of Robin’s Corner Flower Shop. A Lakeville resident, Moniz donates her time and money to various causes, including the Taunton Animal Shelter, local animal rescue groups and people in need.

Business of the Year was presented to Dan Forand of Pilgrim Pest Professionals, a family-owned pest and wildlife control company.

Forand, who began the business in 2021, has donated more than $20,000 to local charities, including many veteran and first responder charities. His Middleboro contributions include support for Middleboro Youth Soccer and Mary K. Goode Elementary School in Middleboro.
