LAKEVILLE — The 17th annual Lakeville Arts & Music Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, rain or shine.

The free festival includes activities, music and shopping.

Musicians include Sophia Crippin, who performs 80’s rock, and Last Time I Heard You, a band of three men who write most of their own songs, which are soul-inspired.

Magician Ed Popielarczyk presents his illusions in the morning at the children's section of the festival. Mr Vinny the Bubble Guy will also entertain with his huge bubble-maker.

The Old Colony Highlander Bagpipe Band will also perform.

More than 45 juried artisans will sell handmade items, such as CBD salves, several types of textiles, jewelry, jams and jellies, seasonal wooden items including jewelry boxes, decoys, different styles of stoneware pottery, cement home decor-planters and soap dishes, natural body care products, hand-made leather items, pet items of all kinds, nautical creations, gnomes and fused glass.

A variety of lunch foods will also be sold by local groups and information tables for nonprofit organizations will be featured.

Inside Lakeville Town Hall silent auction tables will feature donated items from participating artisans/crafters and gift certificates and/or special gifts from local businesses.

Parking is available at the Assawompset School parking lot on Main Street, about a quarter of a mile from the festivities. For emergency reasons, do not park on private property lawns or around the library driveway.

This free event is supported in part by the Lakeville Arts Council, as well as by grants from the Freetown and Middleborough Cultural Councils; all are local agencies supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
