MIDDLEBORO – According to a statement from Senator Marc Pacheco, who represents Middleboro in the Massachusetts State Senate, Beth Israel Lahey Health “has indicated” that they will be opening a new practice at the site of the former Compass Medical location in Middleboro that closed in May of 2023.

A representative for Beth Israel Lahey Health did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The new practice will include primary care and urgent care, Pacheco said, and potentially might offer other types of services as well.

“I am extremely pleased to share the latest update regarding healthcare services in the Town of Middleborough. Following the abrupt closure of Compass Medical this past summer, Beth Israel Lahey Health has indicated they will be opening a new healthcare practice at the location previously operated by Compass,” Pacheco’s statement said.

“According to Beth Israel Lahey Health, they have agreed to provide urgent care and primary care services at the new Middleborough facility and look forward to considering a variety of specialist services as well once they have been able to assess patient needs within the region. Ensuring my constituents in the Third Bristol & Plymouth district have access to high-quality medical services has long been a top priority for me throughout my tenure as State Senator.”
