MIDDLEBORO — True Grit Art Gallery will host an opening reception for “Shoreline: Contemporary Landscape Paintings by  Kathleen Dunn’’ from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 10.

A resident of Scituate with longstanding ties to the Outer Cape, Dunn is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Boston with additional study at the Massachusetts College of Art and Truro Center for the Arts. A recipient of grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, her paintings have been exhibited widely including the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Post Office Gallery in North Truro, Arlington Center for the Arts, Marion Art Center, the Salt Pond Visitor Center of the Cape Cod National Seashore, and Plymouth Center for the Arts.

Presenting landscape as a transcendent experience, Dunn exhibits oil on canvas paintings that express the spirit of a moment through color and form. Dunn enjoys working en plein aire in many instances to rediscover and find inspiration in the shoreline landscape, traveling off the beaten path in search of new views and moments in the landscape.

The gallery invites the public to meet this local artist, view her works, and enjoy complimentary adult refreshments while socializing with other local art enthusiasts. This event is free and open to the public.

True Grit Art Gallery is located at 38 Center St in Middleboro. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
