Two area churches have announced their Christmas services.

Father Jude Thaddeus Osunkwo, pastor of St. Isidore Parish, has announced the upcoming Masses which are scheduled for the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. 

St. Isidore Parish is made up of three worship sites: Sacred Heart Church, Middleboro; Saints Martha and Mary, Lakeville, and St. Rose of Lima, Rochester.

On Christmas Eve there will be five Masses celebrated. Sacred Heart will have a 4 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. Mass. At the 7:30 p.m. Mass, the Sacred Heart Choir will lead the music under the direction of Zeke Lewis, Sacred Heart music coordinator, with accompaniment by James Dolan. 

St. Rose of Lima will also have a 4 p.m. Mass with music under the leadership of the music coordinator, Jack Roussell. In Lakeville at Saints Martha and Mary, there will be a 5:30 P.M. Mass with singing by the children’s choir under the guidance of Henry and Rita Rondelli, and later at 10 p.m. there will be a Mass with the adult choir present under the direction of Henry Rondelli. A religious music program will begin at 9:30 p.m. by the choir prior to the start of Mass. James Dolan and Rita Rondelli are the accompanists.

Christmas Day will see three Masses celebrated with one at each worship site: 8 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima, 9:30 a.m. at Saints Martha and Mary, and 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart. Each Mass will have music.

On Friday, Dec. 23, confessions will be heard from 5 to 7 p.m. at Saints Martha and Mary.

The Central Congregational Church in Middleboro, 2 Webster St., Middleboro, invites the community to their candlelight Christmas Eve services.

On Dec. 24, at 4 and 5:30 pm there will be two Christmas Eve services for the entire community. These will be traditional services of lessons and carols. Music will be provided by the worship team.

The public is invited to sing with the church community, enjoy the Christmas decorations in the sanctuary and stroll by the restored manger in the front of the church.
