Arts and crafts: Pocket planters
Event Date:
MIDDLEBORO — Create a small “pocket planter” for fun-sized plants during a workshop at Soule Homestead Education Center on Aug. 2.
The center will host a pottery workshop where attendees can create a clay planter for small plants from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 46 Soule St. on Aug. 2. The workshop costs $45 per attendee, and $7 for the pottery materials.
At the workshop, participants will learn how to create a small envelope-style planter pot. To create the pot, attendees will learn different clay techniques like rolling, carving and stamping. The center’s Director, Kelly Macdonald Weeks, will teach the class along with local potter Dave Kraemer who runs a pottery business, Dave’s Pottery.
All of the pottery projects will be baked on-site and painted during the workshop, so participants can leave with their complete creation. All are welcome. The workshop is suitable for children ten-and-up with an accompanying adult.
