Mona L. Sukeforth, 91
Mona L. Sukeforth of Middleborough peacefully passed away on Monday November 4, at the age of 91 after a brief illness. She was born in Attleboro, daughter of William J. Demers and Abbie (Lewis) Demers.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years William L. Sukeforth, and by their three sons William III and his wife Cindy, Matthew and his wife Anna-Maria and Stephen and his wife Kim. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael and his partner Kate Finnegan, Andrew and his wife Mairin, Lucia and her great grandchild Eleanor.
She was the sister of Allen Demers and David Demers. She was predeceased by sisters Lorraine Palumbo, Phylis Moore, Lois Neilson, Marilyn Chartier and by brothers William (Buddy), Donald, Robert, and Ronald Demers.
Mona was raised in Middleboro and graduated from Middleboro High School. She was employed as a telephone operator, home health aide and shift manager at the Fairhaven Rest Home. She was an active member of the Central Baptist Church and later the First Congregational Church at the Green. Mona was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who excelled at all of those roles. She was a loving, compassionate, giving, strong, resilient and optimistic woman. She made a true difference in many lives and will be sadly missed.
Calling hours are eliminated at Mona’s request. A public graveside service will be held at the Cemetery at the Green in Middleboro on Saturday, November 16 at 10:00 AM.
