Summer horseshoe leagues forming at Lakeville’s Ted Williams Camp
LAKEVILLE — The Loon Pond Horseshoe Club will be holding sign up sessions for the Summer Horseshoe Leagues, which will begin the first week of May at the horseshoe courts in the Ted Williams Park.
Both the Singles and the Doubles Leagues are handicapped and open to all abilities and ages. The league has had pitchers as old as 87-years-old and as young as 8-years-old as there are different distances for different ages.
The Singles League is on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. and the Doubles League is on Wednesday evenings, also at 6 p.m., from May through August.
There are fees that cover insurance, membership, awards, upkeep of courts and more. They can be paid ahead of time at the several sign-up dates. Doubles players can enter as a single player and the league can try to match them with a partner.
Sign-up dates are on April 11, April 18 and April 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on one Wednesday, April 22 from 5 - 8 p.m.
