PLYMOUTH -- A 41-year-old Hanson man faces a dangerousness hearing Thursday, April 30 after allegedly having multiple sexual encounters with a 15-year-old boy over a nine-month period, according to material presented at his arraignment.
Richard Kielczweski is accused of engaging in sexual activity with the boy in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Halifax and at his Hanson home, Plymouth County Assistant District Attorney Taramarie Pellerin said at his arraignment Monday April 27 in Plymouth District Court.
He faces charges in three communities.
Kielczweski is charged in Middleboro with one count of witness intimidation and enticing a child under 16. No specific details of the Middleboro offenses were presented at the arraignment. He will be arraigned on those charges at a later date in Wareham District Court.
In Hanson, Kielczweski is charged with three counts of pay for sexual conduct with a child under 18, two counts of rape of a child aggravated by 10-year age difference and one count each of rape of a child with force, pose/exhibit a child in a sexual act, and trafficking persons under 18 for sexual servitude.
In Halifax, Kielczweski is charged with two counts each of rape of a child aggravated by 10-year age difference and pay for sexual conduct with a child under 18, and one count of trafficking persons under 18 for sexual servitude.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Kielczweski met the boy on the dating app Grindr, Pellerin said, and moved the interactions onto Snapchat, where they communicated nearly 400 times. They eventually began meeting in person, she said.
Kielczweski sent nude photos of himself to the youth and paid him for at least some of the acts, Pellerin said.
The boy did not initially know the accused’s last name, only that he was known as “Ricky.’’ But his description of the man and his home matched Kielczweski, Pellerin said.
The youth also told police that some of the offenses took place in a backyard shed in Kielczweski’s home with a sign in the covered porch reading “Ricky’s Place.’’
Kielczweski bought concert tickets and other gifts for the youth and his family, Pellerin said.
The suspect told the boy that he was a “prison guard in Boston.’’Kielczweski worked as an officer for the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office for more than 10 years before being indefinitely suspended when the charges were revealed, according to reports from WCVB-TV.
Kielczweski has a license to carry firearms and owns six of them, Pellerin said. The youth reported that on one occasion, Kielczweski took a firearm out of the center console of his vehicle and pointed it at the youth.
Kielczweski’s attorney, Michael Carroll, argued that his client did not have his “due process’’ between his arrest Friday and his arraignment Monday.
He also wanted his dangerousness hearing to take place on the same day of his arraignment. Judge Shelby Smith denied his request.
Kielczweski “hasn’t had his day in court,’’ Carroll said after the court proceedings concluded. “We haven’t had time to review the police report.’’
