LAKEVILLE -- Lakeville Freetown Girl Scouts handed out sweets at the Lakeville Trunk or Treat Oct. 25 but their real treat was seeing the generosity of area residents.
The girls received more than 1,500 children’ books for their Imagination Library, which collects books to share with young people. They collected the books as part of their visit to the popular event.
The Girl Scouts worked in shifts throughout the afternoon and did their best to keep up with the long lines, excited children, and overwhelming number of books coming their way.
“It was an incredible sight to see, and we couldn’t be more grateful,’’ Scout Leader Michelle Hecht reported.
