Native plants to bloom at Olivier Mill Park
Event Date
MIDDLEBORO — The Southeastern Regional Planning & Economic Development District will bring native plants to Olivier Mill Park over the next two days.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 21 and 22 the organization will partner with volunteers to install a native plant garden to help reduce erosion and deter invasive plants.
They welcome anyone interested in enjoying cooler temperatures, gardening or learning about native perennial plants to join the effort.
Protective clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended, and gloves and tools will be provided.
Volunteers are asked to spend at least two hours working, but are welcome through the whole day. Registration is appreciated, but people are welcome to drop by as well.
Lunch will be served around noon both days, along with canned seltzers throughout the day.
For questions or to register, email Karen Pettinelli at kpettinelli@srpedd.org.
