Margaret M. Frew-Nehms
Feb 20, 2026
On February 11, 2026, after a long battle with frontotemporal dementia, Margaret M. Frew-Nehms passed away peacefully surrounded by love and light. Peggy was the loving wife of David through 38 years of marriage, and devoted mother to Haley and Benjamin. She was the daughter of Joseph and Madeline Frew, who she cared for through the end of their lives, and was the devoted sister of her brother Jim Frew.
Peggy enjoyed any opportunity to be on the beach and the ocean, and spent many happy summers with family and friends in Pocasset, MA. Peggy had an adventurous spirit and passed that on to her kids through ski trips, travel, and her never ending encouragement to try new things and experience the fullness of the world. There was no sacrifice too big for Peggy to make for her children and for that they are eternally grateful.
Peggy was deeply kind and a model of compassion for everyone in her life. She understood the value of caring for others and took any opportunity to care for the people she loved. She valued her Catholic faith and remained deeply committed to her relationship with God. Peggy enjoyed participating in her Skidmore College alumni group and being a small business owner.
Peggy enjoyed making it to all of her children's school, sports, and big life events. While she didn't get the opportunity to know them, Peggy always looked forward to the chance to be a grandmother and is also survived by her two grandsons, Lane and Francis. Her spirit lives on through her husband, her children, and her grandchildren.
There will be a wake Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 4 - 7 p.m. in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street, Middleboro. Peggy's family will celebrate her life with a funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church in Middleboro on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The family will be hosting a reception after the funeral Mass at The Country Club of New Bedford in Dartmouth, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Peggy's honor.
