Local Eatery closes ‘effective immediately’

MIDDLEBORO – Restaurant and catering company The Local Eatery announced the closure of its Wareham street location on Monday, Nov. 20.
“We have some sad news to share, effective immediately, we are closed for business,” wrote the Local Eatery in a Facebook post. “We have appreciated the support over the past year very, very much.”
The restaurant opened on Jan. 3 2023 and was owned by husband-and-wife duo Kevin and Destiny Smith with local chef Andy Trott behind the cuisine.
The Local Eatery’s menu included items such as, meatball subs, Korean barbecue rice bowls and blackened chicken tacos. The business originally started as a food truck before expanding to a brick and mortar location.
Owners of the Local Eatery have yet to respond to multiple requests for comment regarding why the team decided to close the location.
