James Hamilton Pollock Jr., 71

Jul 8, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Hamilton Pollock Jr., Jim, 71 of Middleboro, MA. Jim suffered a heart attack on July 4th after spending the day boating with loved ones in Harrison Maine.  Jim will be remembered as a pillar of strength and a beacon of love. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He is survived by his wife, Jean of 46 years, children Emily Doyle and her husband Matt of Bedford, NH, Melinda Wight and her fiancé Shawn Haught of Parkersburg, WV, James Pollock III of Middleboro MA, sister, Jan Pollock of Andover CT, his greatest joys, his grandchildren Cameron and Maggie Doyle as well as an extended loving family. He was preceded in death by both of his parents James “Buddy” Pollock and Patricia Pollock. His dry sense of humor and kind quiet spirit will be forever missed, but no one will feel the void more than his longtime companion and best friend, his 13-year-old yellow lab, Reno.

Jim graduated from Norwell High School in 1971 and went on to spend his career cleaning up the environment. He made the world a better place by clearing it of asbestos, lead and mold while working at Jetline and Marlin and going on to own Ram-Tech and Environmental Response Services.  He had recently handed the reigns of ERS over to his son, James so he could retire to the lake. Jim was a long-time member and treasurer of The Rock Village Church. He loved his lake house and community and was the treasurer of Little Cove Association in Harrison, Maine.  Jim was a family man through and through and nothing made him happier than spending time on the lake with friends, family and his beloved dog Reno. He was effortlessly kind to all he met. Everyone who knew him has a story of how his benevolence and generosity touched their lives.

We welcome all who knew Jim to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed.  Please join the family at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford St Lakeville, MA 02347, Thursday July 11th, for visiting hours from 5:00-8:00PM. “Jim was not a fan of dressing up, and would hate to make anyone don their fancy clothes at his expense, so please attend the visiting hours wearing your best lake clothes and Hawaiian shirts”.  A funeral service will be held on Friday July 12th at 10:00AM at the First Congregational Church on the Green, 6 Plympton Street, Middleborough, MA 02346.
