MIDDLEBORO — After Senator Marc Pacheco, who represents Middleboro in the Massachusetts State Senate, announced in December that Beth Israel Lahey Health would be opening a new practice in Middleboro, Beth Israel Lahey Health has since described their plans in more detail in a January press release.

The new practice will be a “multispecialty ambulatory site in Middleboro” and is “anticipated” to open on March 1, 2024. The location will offer primary care, and additional services will be added to the location “later this year.”

The new practice will be located on 8 Commerce Boulevard at the site of the former Compass Medical location, which closed in May of 2023.

"We are pleased to welcome Beth Israel Lahey Health to Middleboro,” said Middleboro Town Manager James McGrail. “Many people in Middleboro and nearby communities were affected by the Compass Medical closure and we are grateful that a healthcare practice will provide a new and important resource for residents."

Beth Israel “is committed to expanding access to our model of delivering compassionate care in the community, and this is an exciting opportunity to serve Middleboro and the surrounding towns,” said Kevin Coughlin, President of the Beath Israel Deaconess hospital in Plymouth. “We look forward to opening our doors to serve patients later this spring.”

“I am extremely pleased new healthcare services will be coming to the Town of Middleboro,” said Pacheco. ”Many thanks and congratulations Beth Israel Lahey Health and all those at the local level working hard to facilitate the establishment of this new healthcare resource for our region.”
