MIDDLEBORO — Cranberries will be in the spotlight when The Middleborough Tourism Committee hosts the ninth annual Crantoberfest from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday Oct. 15 at Middleboro Town Hall.

Admission and parking are free. 

Events include the great cranberry bakeoff at 1 p.m. To enter this event, register by emailing Crantoberfest@gmail.com. All entries must be dropped off between noon and 1 p.m. and must contain cranberries and include a list of ingredients. 

Entries must be large enough to allow five judges to taste. Prizes will be awarded to the three entries receiving the most votes from the judges. Registration to enter this event will close on Oct. 14.

The day’s activities also include the crowning of the new Ms. Crantoberfest 2022 at 2 p.m. Contestants will give an opening statement as to why they think they would be the best Ms. Crantoberfest followed by questions about the cranberry industry. 

The winner receives a crown and sash and gets to represent Middleborough Tourism at various events throughout the year.  This contest is for ages 10 and older.

The popular kid’s costume parade will take place again this year at 3 p.m. Multiple prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places as well as for special categories.

Cranberry games will be available all day for kids of all ages at no charge. There will be food, and merchandise vendors, a beer garden, and Middleboro merchandise available for purchase.
