MIDDLEBORO — Comedian Steve Sweeney will perform at The Alley Theatre in Middleboro on Saturday, Sept. 20, as part of a special event celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts.

The show will begin at 7 p.m., with the bar opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person and must be purchased in advance. For reservations, email burtwoodschool@aol.com.

Sweeney, a veteran of the New England comedy scene, will be joined by Middleboro native Greg Thomas and regional comic Tom Stewart, who will open the show.

Recognized for his sharp political commentary and use of regional dialects, Sweeney gained national attention with appearances on “Late Night with David Letterman,” “Evening at the Improv,” and HBO. He starred in the Boston-based sitcom “Park Street Under” and has appeared in several films, including “Back to School,” “There’s Something About Mary,” and “Me, Myself & Irene.”

Sweeney previously hosted The Steve Sweeney Show on WZLX and currently appears on WATD-FM with former Massachusetts politician Joe Malone.

The Bartending Service of New England will provide beverages, and Coffee Milano will offer food.
