LAKEVILLE — A Lakeville cancer survivor will be honored during a pre-game ceremony at Fenway Park on Friday, July 11.
The Boston Red Sox and Red Sox Foundation will host an on-field ceremony during the “PMC Night at Fenway Park” event at 6:45 p.m., before the game commences, on July 11. The ceremony is dedicated to the impact of the Pan-Mass Challenge, an annual Massachusetts based “bike-a-thon” charity that raises money for treatment and research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Lakeville resident and cancer survivor, James Quinn, will be among 53 other members of the PMC Living Proof community that will ride around the “warning track” at Fenway Park during the ceremonies.
The Living Proof Community is made up of people who have undergone, or are currently undergoing cancer treatment.
According to the organization, the 2024 Pan-Mass Challenge raised $75 million, and every cent is donated to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
This year, the Pan-Mass Challenge will take place on August 2 and 3. To find out more about this year’s event, route information and registration, visit the Pan-Mass Challenge website.
