LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Historical Society will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Lakeville Council on Aging.

The evening’s program, titled “Deborah Sampson: Revolutionary Woman,” will be presented by Steven Connolly. Sampson, who was born in Plympton and taught in Middleboro, made multiple attempts to enlist in the Revolutionary War. She ultimately succeeded by disguising herself as a man and served in the Continental Army.

This event is supported by a grant from the Lakeville Cultural Council, a local agency, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

The meeting is free, open to the public, accessible, and refreshments will be served.
