BOURNE - Donna M. (Fitzsimmons) Belanger, age 79, of Bourne, formerly of Middleborough, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth.

Donna was born and grew up in Middleborough and attended public schools. While in high school, she was voted "Miss Popular" by her classmates and she was a cheerleader for the football team; Donna graduated from Middleborough High School in 1963. She continued her education at Simmons College in Boston for two years and then enrolled at Boston University, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Donna furthered her education, obtaining two Master's Degrees, one in Special Education and one in Career Counseling.

She began working, first as a Real Estate Broker (which she did for many years) and then as a Public School Teacher at the CCHS/Concord Carlisle High School, where she taught for 20 years. Donna decided to become a business owner of a daycare center, and operated the business for three years. Searching for something new, Donna became a Bank Examiner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a job she held for the next eight years. Donna retired in 2010; she kept busy with the "Lunch Bunch", numerous walks along the Cape Cod canal, exercising, watching television, and dining out at different restaurants on the Cape.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas & Muriel (Durkin) Fitzsimmons and wife of the late Richard Douglas Belanger.

Donna was the loving mother of Kristen Belanger Mata of West Warwick, Rhode Island; dear sister Maureen Trojano & her husband Mal of Norwell; aunt of David and Mark and their families; cousin of Carol Cieto; and cherished longtime partner for 40 years to Fran Vaccari of Bourne.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

All are invited to gather at the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, starting at 9:15 AM, followed by Donna's Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Isidore Parish, SACRED HEART CHURCH, 340 Centre Street, Middleborough, at 10:00 AM.

Interment services will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Wood Street, Middleborough.
