Lakeville firefighter deployed to Quebec to battle blaze
LAKEVILLE — A Lakeville call firefighter has been deployed to Quebec as part of a 16-member Department of Conservation and Recreation wildland firefighting team.
Brian Procida, who works for the Department of Conservation and Recreation wildland firefighting team full-time, will help battle some of the more than 70 wildfires that have been burning in Quebec since early June.
“Everyone here at Lakeville Fire Department is incredibly proud’’ of Procida, Lakeville Fire Chief Michael O’Brien said. “Brian is an extremely hard-working firefighter; nobody puts in the effort that he does at a fire. You literally have to tell him to go sit down and take a break. I can’t think of a better person to represent the Town of Lakeville and the Lakeville Fire Department.’’
