MIDDLEBORO — Kathleen Milan received the celebration of the century as her son, fellow veterans, Town Manager James McGrail and members of the American Legion Simeon L. Nickerson Post 64 celebrated her 100th birthday on June 21 at Nemasket Nursing Home.

The event featured a lot of laughter, old stories, presents, presentations, and cake.

Josh Newhall, aide to State Rep. Norman Orrall, presented a citation from the Speaker of the House of Representatives. American Legion District 10 Commander Bob Burke gave her a certificate from American Legion Post 64. McGrail presented a certificate from the Town of Middleboro.

Several members of the Middleboro Fire Department, who were there coincidentally on routine inspections, joined  in the celebration.

She is a veteran of the U.S. Army.
