Senior center volunteers honored for creating a community

Apr 20, 2023

LAKEVILLE — Some bring meals to the housebound. Others drive people to medical appointments. Still others organize the newsletter, or teach mah-jong or help with recycling.

Each plays a vital part in the Lakeville Senior Center, director Lori Fahey said. And together, they fit together to form a sense of community.

The volunteers were honored Thursday, April 20 with a luncheon at the Loon Pond Lodge.

“We are so fortunate to have such a great senior community,’’ administrative assistant Cheryl Walters said.

Comparing them to unique puzzle pieces that form a cohesive unit, Walters said the volunteers “are truly an essential part of our daily puzzle.’’
