Dog licenses available in Lakeville
LAKEVILLE __ Dog licenses are available at the town clerk’s office for the registration period of Jan. 3 to April 30, 2023.
In order to license a dog, owners will need to provide a copy of a valid rabies certificate and certificate of spaying/neutering; a fee of $16 per dog if the dog has not been spayed or neutered; or a fee of $10 per dog for a spayed or neutered dog.
Dogs licensed after April 30 will be assessed a late fee of $50 in addition to the license fee; after Sept. 30, the late fee increases to $100. Non-payment could result in a court summons to Fourth District Court in Wareham.
For owners 70 and older, no fee is required but dogs must be licensed. The deadline will be strictly enforced; those who have not licensed their dogs will be forced to pay a late fee.
A reminder to license dogs has been included on the 2023 Annual Town Census form. Residents may complete the mail-in form and submit payment along with the enclosed envelope provided through the mail or drop off in the Town Clerk’s Drop Box or in person.
A rabies clinic is usually held in late March or early April and will be posted for the town website at kevillema.org.
Residents whose dog’s rabies vaccination has not expired may renew online at www.lakevillema.org.
Those who no longer have a dog should notify the Town Clerk’s office at 508-946-8800 as soon as possible.
