Oct 10, 2022

LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Police Department and its mutual aid partners safely located a woman who had been reported missing earlier Monday, Oct. 10, Police Chief Matthew Perkins said.

At 5:35 a.m., Lakeville Police responded to a home on Cross Street for a report of a missing 41-year-old female.

Officers initiated a search of the area of Cross Street and Taunton Street, with support from the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) Search and Rescue, a SEMLEC drone, the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council's mobile command post and the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing.

The woman was safely located by Lakeville firefighters at 1:30 p.m., less than a mile away from where she had been reported missing, police said.

She is believed to have experienced a medical issue, police said, that preceded her leaving the residence, though she was found uninjured.

She has been transported to an area hospital via Lakeville Fire ambulance for evaluation, police said.
