Wooly big day ahead at Soule Homestead Sheep Day

MIDDLEBORO — Shear excitement is on the agenda at the annual Sheep Day, to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at Soule Homestead Education Center, 46 Soule St., Middleboro.

Sheep will be the star of the day but plenty of other activities and attractions will be featured.

Gates will open at 10 a.m. The schedule includes a Soule history walk at 10:30 a.m.; sheep shearing demonstrations in the barn at 11 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.; music by Billy Mulligan Jr. at 11:30 a.m. and Plymouth Rock Music at 12:30 p.m.; and a sheep dog demonstration at 1 p.m. 

A variety of organizations and vendors will also be on the site. Visitors can have their faces painted, children can experience a free kids’ area with crafts and activities and all are welcome to visit the farm animals, which include goats, chickens, bunnies, and, of course, sheep. 

Baked goods, refreshments and lunch options will be available. 

Tickets are $6 for member adults, $8 for non-member adults, $3 for children members, ages 3 to 12 and $4 for children non-members.

All money raised supports the operation and preservation of Soule Homestead.
