Updated: 911 service restored in Middleboro, Lakeville
Statewide 911 service has been restored, according to Massachusetts State Police.
On Tuesday, June 18, the State 911 Department sent out an alert announcing that emergency services were experiencing technical difficulties, leading to an outage statewide.
Middleboro and Lakeville police departments were affected, police departments from each town reported.
Lakeville residents were instructed to call 508-947-4422 for emergencies. Middleboro residents were told to call the Police Department business line at 508-947-1212 and dial extension 0. Middleborough Fire Department including EMS services could be reached at 508-947-2323.
According to the Massachusetts state police, residents looking to contact them could have called South Coast regional dispatch at 508-397-3192.
The lapse was part of a statewide server issue, Middleboro Police stated.
According to the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, the state 911 department “is aware of a disruption to the 911 system and is investigating the cause.”
