Three men charged with robbing courier with cash from Middleboro dispensary
Three men have been arrested and charged in connection with the February 2024 armed robbery of a cash courier in Swansea who had made multiple cash pick-ups that day from several cannabis dispensaries, including one in Middleboro, according to information provided by the Department of Justice.
The men are charged with robbing the courier at gunpoint, zip-tying and pepper spraying him, then burning the stolen getaway vehicle.
Steven Madison, 38, of Bridgewater; Christopher White, 37, of Raynham; and Quentin McDonald, 35, of Brockton, were each charged with one count of robbery interfering with interstate commerce, commonly referred to as Hobbs Act robbery; one count of arson of property used in or affecting interstate commerce; and one count of conspiracy. Madison and White were also charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
On Feb. 19, 2024, two men allegedly were driving a stolen van when they pulled up alongside the courier as he arrived at a Swansea bank with about $436,200 in cash for deposit.
A masked man allegedly exited the van, pointed a firearm at the courier, then zip-tied him. The two men allegedly forced the courier into the back seat of his own car and pepper sprayed him. A second man allegedly loaded the cash into the van.
After leaving the bank, the men allegedly drove the van to a nearby location in Swansea where they met with a third man driving an SUV. The men then allegedly transferred the stolen cash into the getaway SUV, burned the van and fled.
