MIDDLEBOROUGH - Thomas "Larry" Tate, age 83, of Middleborough, formerly of Assonet, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 27, 2026, in Fall River.
Born in Middleborough, he was the son of the late Thomas & Elizabeth (Drew) Tate. Larry grew up and attended public schools in Middleborough. He enjoyed a career spanning over 40 years as a boilermaker in all the power plants across the five New England states, working 10-12 hours per day. He was kind, had a "good heart" and enjoyed the company of ladies.
Larry was the father of Carol Ann Tate of Florida, Carl Tate of New Bedford and Brian Tate of Fall River; grandfather of one; dear brother of Barbara Nichols of Plymouth and Robert Tate of Middleborough; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
