Unitarian Universalist holiday fair

The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Middleboro will be hosting a holiday fair on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fair will be held at Parish Hall, located at 25 South Main Street.

There will be a selection of home baked goods, soups and sauces, a jewelry and scarf table and a variety of crafts from several local vendors.

Chances will be available for $5 each or a book of five chances for $20. Drawing will be held at 1:45 p.m, the winner must be present to receive the prize.

Mullein Hill Christian Academy 5K

The Mullein Hill Christian Academy will be hosting their annual 5K run this Saturday, Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. The event will start and end at the school located at 25 Staples Shore Road in Lakeville.

In addition to raising funds for the Academy, 10 percent of the proceeds from the event will go towards the Salvation Army veterans program. To register for the event, visit www.runreg.com/6th-run-for-veterans-5k-2023 .

Nemasket Plein Air Exhibition

The opening reception of the True Grit Art Gallery’s new exhibition, the Nemasket Plein Air Exhibition, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition will feature paintings of outdoor landscapes in Middleboro. Many of the paintings will be for sale and the exhibition will last until Nov. 26.

Oak Point Craft Show

The annual Oak Point Fall/Holiday Craft Show will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Oak Point Clubhouse.

The Oak Point Clubhouse is located at 200 Oak Point Drive. Admission for the event is free.

Learn about Massachusetts Plants

On Saturday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m., the Middleboro public library will be hosting a talk about local plants in Massachusetts. The talk will be run by the Native Plant Trust.

Wednesday, Nov. 8

Presentation at Library

The Middleboro library will host a presentation about conflict in the Middle East by adult education teacher Ray Ajemian. The presentation will cover the historical background of Israel and Palestine. The presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 8.

Saturday, Nov. 11

Mayflower Chamber Orchestra to perform two concerts

The Mayflower Chamber Orchestra will present a concert of music titled “The Best of Haydn and Mozart” on Nov. 11 and Nov.12.

The Saturday evening Nov. 11 concert will be held at the Saints Martha and Mary Church located at 354 Bedford Street in Lakeville at 7:30 p.m.

The Sunday Nov. 12 performance will be held at the Meetinghouse Church located at 3 Nickerson Avenue in Middleboro at 3 p.m.

Both performances are free to the public, although a donation of $10 to $20 to help pay for the orchestral musicians is suggested.

Those wishing to join in the singing of the Mozart choral piece should contact the director at j.fred.thornton@comcast.net regarding a rehearsal on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m at Central Congregational Church, 2 Webster Street.
