There is always a lot to do in Middleboro and Lakeville. This week, head to the Harvest Fair, learn about coffee and get your books appraised. 

Saturday, Sept. 9

Soule Homestead Harvest Fair

Soule Homestead Farm is hosting a Harvest Fair from 10 a.m to 3 p.m at 46 Soule St, Middleboro.

The fair will include hayrides out to a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, a live honey bee exhibit with Kevin the Soule beekeeper, saw mill demonstrations and more.

Monday, Sept. 11

Sept. 11 observance

An observance of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 will be held Monday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Lakeville Fire Station, 346 Bedford St. 

The public is invited to attend.

Coffee Talk

Iced or hot? Head to the Lakeville Public Library at 6:30 p.m to learn all about America’s favorite beverage.

 The group will discuss all things coffee including cultivation, historical impact and brewing methods.

Wednesday, Sept 13

Get books appraised 

Head to the Middleboro Public Library from 6:30 to 8 p.m to hear from book appraiser Kenneth Gloss.

Gloss will talk  about the history of his historic bookshop called Brattle Bookshop, growing up in the book business, show some of his favorite finds and explain how he appraises books and manuscripts.

Following the talk and question-and-answer session, Gloss will give free verbal appraisals of books participants have on hand or will do so at his shop in Boston at a later scheduled date.

Life, Love, Family and Food

Enjoy an intimate virtual presentation with award-winning television host and bestselling author Lidia Bastianich as she talks about her memoir “My American Dream: A Life of Love, Family, and Food.”

The event is hosted by the Middleboro Public Library and will be held from 7-8 p.m.

“My American Dream” is the story of Lidia’s close-knit family and her dedication and endless passion for food.
