Happy Birthday to us!

One year ago, on Aug. 18, we launched Nemasket Week and NemasketWeekToday.com. It has been a wonderful – and eventful - 12 months!

In addition to sharing our favorite photos of the year on these two pages, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Middleboro and Lakeville communities for their support. Readers: Thank you for your attention, your feedback and your news tips. Businesses and organizations: Thank you for agreeing to be distribution locations to ensure our papers get into readers’ hands. Advertisers: Thank you for making this all possible.

We created Nemasket Week with conviction that a common source of news, done right, is part of the glue that binds a community together. Whether readers agree or disagree on what to do with the old state hospital, which T-shirts should be allowed in school or whether construction of more multi-family housing is a good idea . . . everyone can be working from the same set of basic facts.

And, from Little League to local artists to dog day at the hardware store, everyone now knows a little bit more about others in this fascinating corner of the world.

Moving into Year 2, we want to do more of what we have been doing and to do it even better. Please help us do that.
