MIDDLEBORO — The Middleboro Rotary Club recently received a donation of children’s books from a local teenager, Samantha Derochers, in response to a public request for book donations.

The club had posted on Facebook asking for contributions to help restock its eight Little Book Boxes located throughout neighborhoods in Middleboro and Lakeville. Samantha responded by donating several boxes of her favorite books.

Her donation will help replenish the available reading materials, particularly for younger readers, and support the club’s ongoing efforts to provide free access to books in the community.

“By donating several boxes of her favorite books, she has shown a genuine commitment to sharing the joy of reading with others,” Kevin Quackenbush, a Middleboro Rotary Club member wrote in an email. “This will make it possible for more people to enjoy and benefit from free access to books.”

The Middleboro Rotary Club meets Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. at the Fireside Restaurant. Community members are welcome to attend and learn more about the club’s projects and service opportunities.
