MIDDLEBORO — The Knitting and Crochet Outreach Team from the Middleboro Council of Aging got together to provide some warm gifts in time for the holidays. 

Over the past year, the group produced more than 240 handmade items, including afghans, lap blankets, baby blankets, hats, mittens, scarves, shawls, baby sweaters, vests, and toys. 

The team of ten spent an estimated 11,000 hours this year working on their outreach projects.

The items were sorted through on Nov. 19 for distribution to Middleboro nursing homes, town outreach departments, Conway House, Sacred Heart Parish Giving Tree, Self-Help Inc. and Head Start, among others.
