MIDDLEBORO — The Solstice Singers will present “The Holly and the Ivy” show and soup takeout at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Middleboro, 25 South Main St, Middleboro.

The show, directed by Lore Loftfield De Bower, features music, drama, and dance in the spirit of the Renaissance, with colorful costumes and early music sounds from Ensemble Passacaglia. Tickets for the show are $20 per person, with children under 10 admitted free. 

In addition to a show, there will be a soup sale “to go” featuring four soups (venison sausage stew, vegetarian chili, squash/pumpkin, and Portuguese kale) at $15 per quart. Soups must be pre-ordered no later than Jan. 1.

Organizers hope this program will bring some light and fun into the dark nights and provide warm food for the belly.
