Skateboarder seriously injured in early-morning Middleboro crash
MIDDLEBORO – An 18-year-old Middleboro man riding a skateboard was struck by a car and seriously injured early Wednesday morning in the area of 81 Plympton St., Middleboro Police Chief Joseph Perkins said.
At approximately 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, Middleboro Police received a 911 call reporting a pedestrian crash in the area of 81 Plympton St., police said.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was traveling westbound on a skateboard in the eastbound lane of traffic when the vehicle, a 2021 Honda CRV, allegedly struck the victim while driving eastbound on Plympton Street.
Upon arrival, officers provided aid to an 18-year-old Middleboro man who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was unconscious, laying on the road suffering from serious injuries.
The victim was transported by Brewster Ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The driver, a 36-year-old Middleboro man, remained at the scene, police said, and was cooperative with police.
The crash remains under investigation by Middleboro Police detectives.
