MIDDLEBORO — Summer is on the horizon and Middleboro is planning a series of family-friendly activities. 

Here is a sampling:

Pine Meadow farm animals will be the stars from 2 to 4 p.m. June 25 at Battis Field.

“Spiderman’’ will be screened for Drive-In Movie Night at 8 p.m. June 29 at the lower softball fields of Battis Field. Gates open at 7:20 p.m.

The pool will open July 1 at Battis Field.

The carnival comes to town July 3-7 at the Peirce Playground, with events including watermelon eating and greasy pole contests at 1 p.m. July 4 and fireworks at 10 p.m. July 5.

“Sandlot’’ will be screened for Drive-In Movie Night at 8 p.m. July 27 at the lower softball fields of Battis Field. Gates open at 7:20 p.m.
