Sheriff’s department employees hurt in Route 140 crash

LAKEVILLE — Two employees of the Bristol County Sheriff’s office were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital Monday evening Dec. 12 after a two-vehicle crash involving a sheriff’s department van on Route 140, according to the Lakeville Fire Department.

Their injuries are believed to be minor, the department reported. 

The call came in from State Police reporting a two-vehicle accident south of County Street at about 5:20 p.m. When Lakeville Fire arrived, they found the crash was actually south of the reported location, according to the department, and just over the Freetown border.

The Freetown Fire Department responded to the crash as well. The injured employees were transported by Lakeville and Freetown ambulances to St Luke's Hospital.
